The Godin Multiac Grand Concert Deluxe at a glance
The
Godin Multiac Grand Concert Deluxe offers the possibility to give a powerful and warm concert guitar sound to the best. Especially for genres that require a large instrumentation with percussion instruments, the robust
concert guitar is perfectly suited. A clever construction, high-quality tone woods and extensive electronics guarantee the player an authentic sound experience. In terms of playability, the manufacturer focuses on traditional construction methods. The neck has a nut
width of 50.8 mm and is equipped with
19 frets. A robust
bag is included in delivery.
Construction and woods
The secret to the natural sound is a
solid cedar top, which colors the tone with a warm and saturated note. A
mahogany body with
two sound chambers provides an almost attack and powerful bass frequencies. To ensure obliging playability the flat
mahogany neck is equipped with a
Richlite fingerboard, which has a slight
radius and is easy to reach even in the higher registers thanks to a generous
cutaway.
Design and Hardware
For the appropriate feel, the body is designed to be flat but quite large. So the handling of the instrument is amazingly close to an acoustic classical guitar. The noble
high gloss finish and fine
bindings give the Godin Multiac Grand Concert Duet Ambiance the final touch and round off the overall picture in a very tasteful way. The headstock is equipped with chrome-plated
classical tuners, which allow precise tuning of the
6 nylon strings due to their
16:1 ratio.
Electronics
The high-quality pickup system was developed in cooperation with the manufacturer
L.R. Baggs and convinces with its extensive equipment. Equipped with individual
Gold HEX Saddles and a
Lyric microphone, the system is largely responsible for an authentic sound. The preamp can be conveniently operated via
five sliders, which (viewed from the outside in) can be used to adjust the
master volume,
treble, midrange, bass frequencies and to blend between the pickup points. A separate switch can be used to activate
tape saturation for each. The preamp is completed by a
phase switch, which can prevent possible feedback.
